Job summary

Koppers Inc. is seeking a Loader Operator in Vidalia, GA. You will operate a loader to move and stack poles and other materials, load and unload products from railcars or trailers, and handle related paperwork to ensure accuracy of shipments.

You will maintain safe handling, cleanliness of equipment and work area, and keep inventory accurate. You will read work orders to assemble loads per customer specs and work with teammates to meet safety, quality and production goals on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Experience running heavy machinery.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtractions).
• Experience working in small teams.

Responsibilities

• Operates loader to move and stack poles and other materials.
• Accurately loads and unloads poles and other products on and off transportation vehicles.
• Processes associated paperwork to ensure accuracy of incoming/outgoing products.
• Maintains operation of the loader and ensures safe handling and cleanliness of equipment, products, and work area.
• Works closely with all employees and has no supervisory responsibilities.
• Loads/unloads wood poles and other material to/from railcars or trailers.
• Operates all equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Cleans and maintains equipment and work areas for safe operation.
• Handles materials safely to prevent damage.
• Moves and organizes material within the site to maximize space and efficiency.
• Maintains accurate inventory.
• Reads work orders to build loads for delivery based on customer specifications.
• Collaborates with management and co-workers to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
• Performs daily maintenance and safety checks on wheel loader.
• Performs other duties as required.
