Coldspring in Texas is seeking a Loader Operator to support quarry operations by operating front-end loaders and performing daily equipment checks.

You will follow safety procedures, communicate with supervisors and drivers, and adapt to outdoor conditions such as heat, cold, and mud. The role requires climbing, lifting up to 70 lbs, and may involve travel to multiple quarry sites on occasion.

• Must be able to lift 70 lbs.
• Position is outdoors; may travel to multiple quarry locations.
• Climb ladders and stairs as needed.

Status: This is a full-time; hourly position

Hours: Monday – Friday: 6am – 4:30pm & Saturday 6am – 12pm; overtime as needed

JOB SUMMARY: The Loader Operator is responsible for operating front-end loaders to assist in all aspects of quarry operations.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Perform daily equipment checks
• Be aware of daily planned quarry activities – grout removal, loaf tipping, block loading
• Awareness of activity in immediate work area by either employees or visitors
• Know equipment operating limits with various attachments
• Be constantly aware of working surface conditions – mud, ice and dust
• Knowledgeable in standard loader hand signals
• Excellent communication skills (visual, radio) – between supervisor, crew and OTR drivers
• Maintain quarry roads, ramps and grout pile surfaces, in compliance with regulatory berm height
• Understand all equipment operator manuals

Requirements

• This position spends 100% of the time outdoors. Quarry conditions can vary from extreme summer heat to below zero cold, wind and rain. A possibility of extended travel to all Coldspring quarry locations with a willingness to fly.
• Knowledge of typical dimensional stone quarry operations
• Should have general mechanical maintenance ability
• 2 years of related experience
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs. Must be able to lift 70 lbs.
