Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Jackson, MS is seeking a Loader, Non-Formula to support our distribution operations. You will transport items into trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks or by hand, ensuring safety and quality standards.

As a warehouse associate, you will prepare outgoing freight, maintain efficient flow, adhere to safety policies, and work as part of a team to meet productivity targets. This position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• 6+ months of warehouse and/or distribution work experience.
• Must be able to work scheduled times and overtime for the position.
• Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift; able to lift 10-35 pounds and up to 60-90 pounds depending location.
• Able to work in multi-temperature environments (cooler, freezer, dry).
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Transports items to be shipped into the trailer with a forklift, pallet jack or by hand in the correct stop sequence, according to a predetermined loading plan.
• Moves outgoing products from staging area to the loading dock with forklift.
• Wraps pallets with cellophane, secures loads and ensures shipping labels are in place as needed.
• Locates the proper slot on the trailer for the order, places it, and secures the load when complete.
• Removes empty pallets, cardboard packing, and strapping to the proper area or receptacles.
• Inspects empty pallets for damage, stacks and moves pallets with pallet jack or forklift to storage area.
• Performs general housekeeping and keeps warehouse area, loading dock and trailers clean.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures; reports unsafe conditions immediately.
• Puts on required Personal Protective Equipment; performs safety checks on equipment.
• Inspects empty trailers to ensure cleanliness before loading; completes vehicle inspection checklist.
• Meets productivity and accuracy standards per location and guidelines.
• Removes batteries, recharges, and completes vehicle inspection checklist.
• Assists Order Selectors and performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Completes paperwork at end of shift and secures equipment.

Position Purpose

Warehouse associates are the foundation to our company’s success. They work actively, safely, and independently to maintain the efficient flow of products through our distribution process, while ensuring quality standards. As a Loader, Non-Formula, you will be transporting items into trailers using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts or by hand.

The Loader, Non-Formula prepares pallets of out-going freight for shipping and transports pallets while observing all safety regulations and ensuring all quality standards are met while maintaining the efficient flow of product through the production process. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

• Transports items to be shipped into the trailer with a forklift, pallet jack or by hand in the correct stop sequence, according to a predetermined loading plan.


• Moves out going products from staging area to the loading dock with forklift.


• Wraps pallets with cellophane, secure load/pallets and make sure shipping labels are in place as needed.


• Locates the proper slot on the trailer for the order, set it in place and secure the load when complete.


• Removes empty pallets, cardboard packing, and strapping to the proper area or receptacles.


• Inspects empty pallets for damage, stack and move pallets with pallet jack or forklift to the proper storage area.


• Performs general housekeeping duties and keep warehouse area, loading dock and trailers clear and clean as required.


• Follows all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines.


• Ensure work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.


• Reviews work schedule, perform safety check on equipment, obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations.


• Puts on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.


• Inspects empty trailers at the loading dock to insure they are clean and clear before loading and take appropriate action as needed.


• Meets required productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.


• Removes batteries requiring recharging, replace with charged batteries and complete vehicle inspection checklist.


• Assists Order Selectors and perform other similar duties as requested or assigned by supervisor.


• Secures all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.


• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent


• 6+ months of warehouse and/or distribution work experience


• Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position


• Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products off shelves, as well as replenish product, from various heights weighing between 10-35 pounds and generally up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location, throughout shift


• Able to work in multi-temperature environments, i.e., cooler, freezer and dry


• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
