Job Description

Under general supervision, performs routine loading and unloading of materials within the yard or work site; assembles load packages into trucks for delivery to customer job sites.

Responsibilities include:

1. Loading and unloading materials onto or from pallets, trucks, or customer vehicles, and installing strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
2. Driving various lifting devices (e.g., forklift) to move products, equipment, or materials around the warehouse, shop, or yard.
3. Performing load-building tasks, determining appropriate weight, composition, and placement of loads based on customer orders and vehicle capacity to ensure safety and balance.
4. Conveying materials to or from storage to designated areas using hand trucks, electric dollies, forklifts, or other devices.
5. Attaching identifying tags or labels to materials, or marking information on containers to ensure correct identification.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, three months of experience performing similar tasks or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Forklift certification is required.
