Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Forklift certification required or ability to obtain.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, shipping documents and labels.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload building materials from trucks, pallets, and customer vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Build customer delivery loads by determining weight distribution and load configuration for safe transport.
• Secure loads with strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting.
• Review work orders and requests to identify materials to move, stage, or load.
• Transport materials around the yard using forklifts and material-handling equipment.
• Open containers and loads using appropriate hand tools and equipment.
• Label and inventory materials for accurate identification.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and participate in safety meetings.
