Job description

Do you want to work with a highly talented team in a collaborative and dynamic environment? If so, Opportune may be the place for you. We are known for our technical excellence, entrepreneurship and industry leadership.

About the Position

Opportune is seeking an LNG Senior Manager/Manager to join our Midstream Consulting practice. This role is designed for professionals with deep LNG commercial operations and accounting experience who have supported LNG facilities and commercial organizations, particularly those involved in greenfield or rapidly scaling LNG projects.

We are specifically seeking candidates with hands‑on experience implementing and operating LNG commercial and accounting systems, with a strong preference for Quorum’s Energy Components (EC) platform. This is a client‑facing role for professionals who understand LNG beyond theory—people who know how cargos move, how contracts settle, and how revenue hits the books. You will help LNG clients modernize their commercial and accounting operations using best‑in‑class systems and industry best practices.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to LNG operators on commercial operations, accounting and system enablement.
  • Lead and execute LNG commercial and accounting system implementations, with emphasis on Energy Components (or comparable LNG commercial platforms).
  • Design and optimize LNG business processes including:
  • LNG pricing, invoicing, and revenue recognition
  • Inventory, imbalance, and accrual accounting
  • Vessel scheduling, laytime, and demurrage
  • Support greenfield LNG projects by helping clients stand up LNG commercial operations and supporting systems from FID through first cargo.
  • Translate LNG commercial and accounting requirements into system configurations and technical solutions.
  • Manage project teams and client stakeholders through complex LNG‑focused implementations and transformations.
  • Identify gaps in client processes or systems and provide practical, LNG‑specific solutions.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Information Systems, or other applicable degree.
  • 8+ years of experience in LNG commercial operations, accounting, or system implementations within consulting, operations, or technology solutions firm.
  • Direct experience with relevant software utilized by LNG operators, with an emphasis on Energy Components experience
  • Strong understanding of LNG business fundamentals including:
  • SPA structures and pricing
  • Cargo economics and margin analysis
  • LNG revenue recognition and accounting treatment
  • Scheduling, nominations, and logistics
  • Experience supporting large LNG operators or greenfield LNG projects.
  • Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to system implementations or business process transformations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
