Job summary

Mercor is building and operating LLM agents in production and seeks engineers who can own from development to deployment with real user impact. You will discuss how agents are used inside a company, how to measure improvement, and the cost surfaces involved in day-to-day operation.

Expect a conversation-based interview; compensation for the interview ranges from $100 to $500 depending on depth of experience. We value practical war stories and concrete tradeoffs over theory.

Qualifications

• Shipped an agent that real users depended on.
• Able to tell whether an agent improved after a change.
• Experience running agents that outlive a single request (scheduled jobs, long-running tasks, cloud sandboxes).
• Worked on internal assistants and understood adoption and usage patterns.
• Interest in layers like internal monoagents, shared memory, reusable skills and playbooks, and cost visibility.

Responsibilities

• Interview process begins with a short conversational AI interview; no coding or take-home tasks.
• Provide insights on agent reliability, evaluation, and adoption based on real systems.
