Job summary

Auburn University in Alabama is seeking an Extension Agent to join the Animal Science and Forages team. You will develop and deliver research-based programs for livestock and forage producers, evaluating impact and outcomes across the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in animal science, agronomy or related field and applicable previous work experience in field of study.
  • Level 1: Bachelor's degree and 0 years of experience.
  • Level 2: Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience or Master's degree and 2 years of experience.
  • Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • This position involves regular travel to fulfill Extension responsibilities, and access to reliable transportation is essential.

Responsibilities

  • The EA will organize, deliver, and evaluate educational programs for livestock, equine, and forage production.
  • The EA will disseminate information using printed communication, workshops, farms, visits, social media, and web resources.
  • The EA will assist in grants and support applied research/demonstrations beneficial to clientele.
  • The EA will collaborate with ASF team members and regional leaders to plan and evaluate programs.

Education

Bachelor's degree in animal science, agronomy or related field
Master's degree in a related field (preferred)
