Responsibilities

• Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies.
• Herd livestock to pastures or to scales, trucks, or enclosures.
• Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease and monitor physical characteristics.
• Provide basic medical treatment or arrange for veterinarian care as needed.
• Brand, tag, or otherwise identify livestock.
• Drive vehicles and equipment to distribute feed and supplies.
• Move equipment, poultry, or livestock between locations.
• Assist with breeding and reproduction activities including inseminations.
• Maintain housing and feeding areas and ensure cleanliness.
