Job summary

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Anesthesiology are seeking a Liver Transplant Anesthesiologist at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level to join our growing academic medical center.

Role includes practice in liver transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and collaborating with multidisciplinary transplant and surgical teams.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or foreign equivalent is required.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited anesthesiology residency.
• Board certified or eligible in Anesthesiology.
• Interest and/or experience in liver transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery.
• Fellowship in Transplant Anesthesiology, Critical Care, or related subspecialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia for liver transplant procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary transplant and surgical teams.
• Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Contribute to clinical education, research, and academic advancement.

What We’re Looking For

• MD, DO, or foreign equivalent
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited anesthesiology residency or equivalent
• Board certified/board eligible in Anesthesiology
• Eligible for state medical licensure
• Demonstrated interest and/or experience in:
• Liver transplantation
• Hepatobiliary surgery
• Complex perioperative care
• Fellowship training in Transplant Anesthesiology, Critical Care, or a related subspecialty highly preferred
