Job summary

Colgate University is seeking an Assistant Director for Residential Life to lead junior and senior housing, including thematic housing and Greek chapter houses. The role requires living on campus, supervising student staff, and managing housing operations, open communication with campus partners, and crisis response.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in higher education or related field, 2+ years of relevant experience, and familiarity with housing software such as StarRez.

Qualifications

• Written and verbal communication skills and ability to maintain productive relationships with diverse groups (faculty, staff, students, visitors).
• Knowledge of student development theory and practice.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee junior and senior residential experience including housing processes and theme housing.
• Supervise and mentor student staff within Residential Life.
• Manage housing data, damage billing, and room management in collaboration with facilities.
• Collaborate with campus partners to ensure timely communications and crisis response.
