Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking an APC Operator to join the Operations team in West Hartford, CT, supporting NBC Connecticut. You will direct and operate live and recorded TV productions using the Ross Overdrive Automated Production Control system.

The role requires hands-on experience with automated control, ability to direct talent during broadcasts, and collaboration with the Content and Engineering teams to optimize workflows and on-air quality.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, journalism, engineering, radio, television & film, operations, media production or related fields or equivalent experience.
1 year experience working as a newscast Director and/or Technical Director
1 year experience with Automated Production Control system

Responsibilities

Technical preparation, coding and execution of live and recorded TV content from production control rooms, studios and remote locations.
Direct talent and other technicians during broadcasts and studio productions.
Shape overall creative appearance of the broadcast with video, audio and graphics in coordination with Content team.
Operate video and graphic playout via Dalet Galaxy and Ross Xpression.
Operate robotic camera controls using RossCambot software.
Set up and maintain studio equipment, set pieces, and lighting.
Work with Management and Engineering to refine workflows and create efficiencies.
Document technical procedures and processes.
Participate in station events and special projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
