Job summary

Gray Media in Wilmington, NC seeks a Director/Master Control Operator to direct live and pre-recorded productions for WECT and monitor on-air signals. You will handle daily programming, editing tasks, and FCC log compliance while collaborating with newsroom and engineering teams.

You will oversee equipment, assist in maintaining studio cleanliness, and participate in training new staff as schedules demand. A Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Film/TV Production or related field preferred.
• 1 year of experience in journalism, production, media or related fields.
• Understanding of FCC broadcast regulations.
• Ability to prioritize complex tasks and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Direct live and pre-recorded productions for WECT.
• Occasional operation of Edius editing software.
• Work with AP ENPS, newsroom computer system.
• Understanding of all equipment in studios and production areas.
• Training of new personnel as assigned.
• Assist in maintaining clean studios and production areas.
