Job summary

TelevisaUnivision in the United States is seeking an Assignment Editor/Producer with a dynamic, creative attitude to source content and manage logistics for live crews, while contributing story ideas and coverage decisions for special news programs.

You will research daily story ideas, assign information to crews, monitor breaking news, coordinate interviews, capture field video, and work with reporters and editors to shape packages that meet station policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience on the Assignment Desk.
• Experience sourcing and sharing content via social media.
• Fluent in Spanish (read and write).
• Authorized to work in the United States full-time.

Responsibilities

• Research and produce daily story ideas for air.
• Assign and provide necessary information to crews.
• Monitor for breaking news.
• Coordinate interviews and plan for future coverage and prioritized events.
• Maintain communication with producers, field crews and agencies.
• Capture video feeds from the field and assist editors with troubleshooting.
• Work with reporters to conceptualize, coordinate and approve story packages.
• Work with other Assignment Editors and newsroom managers to assign stories and monitor coverage.
