Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is seeking Full-time Flex Houseparents—two-person couples—to reside in on-campus student homes and care for a group of 8–13 youths. You will provide daily supervision, mentorship, and support, fostering a structured, family-like environment that promotes academic, emotional, and social growth.

The role begins with a nine-day on duty followed by three days off, with possible progression to a placed houseparent living with the same group.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and engage in development and recreation.
• Lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel participation.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
