Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents, living on campus and caring for a group of 8–13 students. The role fosters a structured, family-like home and supports academic, emotional, and social development.

Couples work a nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off, with a progression to a fixed houseparent assignment and ongoing supervision, devotions, and budgeting tasks. Benefits include housing and meals on duty.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married for at least two years.
• Both spouses aged 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff as role models.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and engaging in development and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
