Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, providing care, guidance and supervision for 8–13 students, fostering a structured, family-like environment to support academic, emotional and social development.

The role involves supervision, scheduling, activities planning, devotions, budgeting and reporting, with a path to a placed houseparent role.

Qualifications

• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses aged 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff are role models.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and lead developmental/recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
