Job summary

WC Smith is seeking a Building Superintendent for The Foreland in Northeast Washington, DC. The role requires living on-site in a provided studio apartment and delivering excellent resident services while handling basic maintenance and building upkeep.

You will supervise vendors, keep common areas clean, and respond to after-hours emergencies. Previous property management experience is a plus; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to live on-site in provided studio apartment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance procedures and tools.
• Strong English communication with residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service to residents.
• Maintain daily upkeep of the property including snow/ice removal from sidewalks, steps, driveways, and parking areas.
• Meet vendors and coordinate and supervise their work as necessary.
• Maintain security of the property by ensuring doors are locked and secure after work.
• Assist with preventative maintenance schedules for equipment and operating systems.
• Identify and report maintenance needs to the Property Manager.
• Respond to after-hours/on-call emergencies as outlined by the Property Manager.
• Tour prospective residents through vacant units as requested by the Property Manager or Leasing Department.
