Job summary

George's Inc is seeking a hardworking team member to operate in a fast-paced processing area, hanging live chickens on moving shackles while maintaining animal welfare compliance and company policies. The role requires standing for long periods and working shoulder to shoulder with others in dim lighting.

The ideal candidate will be able to discern live from dead chickens, handle poultry at waist level, and follow safety procedures in a structured, equal-opportunity workplace.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a dimly lighted work area shoulder to shoulder with other employees
• Must be able to grasp a chicken at approximately waist level and hang a live chicken on a shackle at shoulder height
• Must be able to discern a live chicken from a dead chicken

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be able to work in a fast paced setting hanging a live chicken weighing 2-5 pounds, on every 5th shackle
• Adhere to all George’s policies & procedures and all animal welfare laws & regulations.
• Must be able to stand for several hours at a time
• Must be able to work in a dimly lighted work area shoulder to shoulder with other employees
• Must be able to grasp a chicken at approximately waist level and hang a live chicken on a shackle at shoulder height
• Must be able to discern a live chicken from a dead chicken

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.
