Job summary

Paramount Pictures' CBS Sports division seeks an enthusiastic Associate Researcher for freelance, on-site work in Stamford, CT. You will deliver accurate statistical and biographical information to inform coverage across studio and game broadcasts, and collaborate on graphics and storytelling ideas.

Ideal candidates have deep sports knowledge, strong research skills, and the ability to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred; current college students will be considered.
• 0-3 years of experience.
• Experience working with numbers in any field.
• Experience in sports studio/broadcast environments, or other sports media fields, a plus.
• Excellent working knowledge of and interest in multiple sports (NFL, college football/basketball, golf, soccer).
• Research with limited supervision and a passion for discovering new knowledge.
• Thrives in a team-oriented environment.
• Able to work nights, weekends and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Use deep sports knowledge with strong research to generate ideas from live events and news.
• Contribute to informational packets with data, nuggets, and storylines; propose on-screen elements.
• Search various sources to support storytelling for game and studio productions.
• Build relationships with producers, on-air talent, and graphics/video teams.
• Maintain files on milestones, trends, and relevant information about covered sports.
• Respond to trends and develop storylines prior to and during live games.
• Communicate effectively with content creators to provide accurate statistical information.
• Deliver real-time reactions to notable performances and developing on-field storylines.
• Chart information for graphics with clear, digestible visuals and prioritized storylines.
• Prepare background/research material for other entities as needed.
• Assist Researchers and Senior Researchers with organizational tasks.
