Job summary

WLOX-TV, part of Gray Media, in Biloxi, MS, is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to support all programming and post-production. The engineer will perform quality control, troubleshoot, and install broadcast and IT equipment, including transmitter gear, while ensuring FCC and Gray standards are met.

Daily interaction with Sales, News, and Production teams is expected. The role requires 5+ years in television broadcast, knowledge of A/V equipment and IP control, and flexibility for varying hours and

Qualifications

5 years of television broadcast experience and knowledge of modern OS, servers, email, FTP, and TCP/IP.
Proficiency with broadcast A/V equipment and IP control systems.
Experience with Digital Master Control and News Automation preferred.
Able to work under pressure and adapt quickly.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
Experience in engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support all engineering aspects of the facility, including studio, post-editing, field production, and live transmissions.
Maintain and troubleshoot studio and transmitter equipment to ensure broadcast quality.
Work with IT to design and secure computer systems and networks.
Assist with engineering projects and building maintenance.
Respond to breaking news and severe weather events as required.
Collaborate with Sales, News, and Production teams to support programming.
