Job summary

WLOX-TV, part of Gray Media, in Biloxi, MS, is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to support all programming and post-production. The engineer will perform quality control, troubleshoot, and install broadcast and IT equipment, including transmitter gear, while ensuring FCC and Gray standards are met.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of television broadcast experience and knowledge of modern OS, servers, email, FTP, and TCP/IP.
  • Proficiency with broadcast A/V equipment and IP control systems.
  • Experience with Digital Master Control and News Automation preferred.
  • Able to work under pressure and adapt quickly.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support all engineering aspects of the facility, including studio, post-editing, field production, and live transmissions.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot studio and transmitter equipment to ensure broadcast quality.
  • Work with IT to design and secure computer systems and networks.
  • Assist with engineering projects and building maintenance.
  • Respond to breaking news and severe weather events as required.
  • Collaborate with Sales, News, and Production teams to support programming.
