Job summary

WINK News in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a Master Control Operator to monitor and control on-air transmission across multiple stations. You will ensure seamless broadcast execution, comply with FCC rules, and maintain high technical standards for all feeds.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to troubleshoot quickly, and solid teamwork. You’ll work varied shifts in a 24/7 environment, operate automation systems, manage logs, and coordinate with traffic, programming, and news

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s preferred.
• 1+ years of master control or broadcast operations experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of FCC rules and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to remain composed during technical disruptions.
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently or as a team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control on-air signals for multiple broadcast stations and subchannels.
• Operate and manage broadcast automation systems across station properties.
• Ensure accurate playout of programming, commercials, promos, EAS alerts, and graphics.
• Switch live programming and breaking news feeds as directed.
• Ingest and prepare content for air across multiple stations.
• Maintain accurate FCC and station logs.
• Perform quality assurance checks for audio, video, and closed captioning.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate to engineering as needed.
• Coordinate with traffic, programming, and news departments.
• Execute special event broadcasts and network join/leave procedures.
