Job summary

School of Rock in Wexford, PA is looking for an enthusiastic Instructor to teach Little Wing (4-5) and Rookies (6-7) classes and help create a warm, welcoming music-learning environment.

The role involves delivering engaging lessons across keys, vocals, guitar, bass, and drums while collaborating with parents and supporting student development on weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
• Has a passion for and/or experience working with children under the age of seven.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design; rhythm, notation, pop and rock genres.
• Excellent ability to deal with a wide range of customers, including children and parents.
• Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Very strong customer relations skills on the phone and in person.
• Resourceful and good problem-solver.
• Works well under pressure.
• Proficient on at least one: guitar, keyboard/piano, drums, or voice.
• Good judgment a must.
• Part time, some weekend day availability required.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn fundamentals of music, not just songs.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
• Communicate regularly with parents on progress of students after lessons.
• Interact with parents and students, being visible and accessible in the school.
• Pitch in during canceled lessons and assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance.
• Assist in recruiting and enrolling students.

We are looking for a Little Wing and Rock Rookies Instructor to join us at our Wexford location!

School of Rock is looking for an enthusiastic Instructor for our Little Wing (ages 4-5) and Rookies (ages 6-7) classes. Little Wing and Rookies Instructors will help create a warm, supportive and inspiring environment for young musicians aged 4-7, and encourage young children to reach their developmental milestones through fun musical activities and playing rock and roll musical instruments.

We teach five core areas at School of Rock - keys, vocals, guitar, bass and drums. Many of our instructors have broader musical talent as well which we do our best to engage.

Music Instruction:

• Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows
• Be sure the students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs
