Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to manage high volumes of documents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare court-ready pleadings, motions and responses for e-filing in Florida state and federal courts.
• Maintain and organize a high volume of discovery materials.
• Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a busy environment.
• Draft responses to discovery requests and organize case documents for attorneys.
• Support defense litigation practice with meetings, hearings, depositions, and docket management.
• Enter billing time daily and maintain calendar of deadlines and events.

OPPORTUNITY | Paralegal
Tampa, FL office seeks a well-rounded, highly-motivated, experienced Litigation Paralegal to support our practicing litigation defense attorneys. Must possess experience in either 3 rd party defense work (personal injury) and/or construction defect work. This is an exceptional opportunity to handle a variety of law office responsibilities including all aspects of the discovery process with a forward-thinking firm, in an expanding office.

SKILLS and ABILITIES

• proven knowledge of electronic filing requirements at state and federal courts in Florida;

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare court-ready state and federal pleadings, motions and responses to motions for e-filing with state and federal courts in Florida ;
• Maintain and organize high volume of discovery;
• Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a busy legal environment;
• Draft and respond to discovery request, including interrogatories, request for production, request for disclosure, request for admission, deposition notices, etc.;
• Organize large volumes of case-related documents;
• Ability to locate and reference specific documents quickly (e.g. trial exhibits, deposition transcripts, key discovery responses, case correspondence and communications);
• Support assigned attorney defense litigation practice ( i.e. phone conferences, meetings, case deadlines, hearing and trial dates, mediations and depositions, as well as scheduling orders and moving docket forward);
• Document, organize and assist with preparation for trials and arbitrations hearings;
• Save, file and organize pleadings, motions and related e-filed or emailed documented dates on a daily basis;
• Maintain daily calendar with ability to forecast and prioritize relevant deadlines;
• Enter billing time daily, in a timely fashion; and
• Maintain professional demeanor and a positive attitude with colleagues, clients, co-counsel and court personnel.
