Job summary

Hahn Loeser & Parks seeks a skilled litigation paralegal for its San Diego office to support commercial litigation matters in California state and federal courts. This hybrid role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can manage deadlines, discovery, filings, and trial preparation with confidence.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of defense-side commercial litigation experience, a paralegal certificate or degree, and strong knowledge of CA court rules, with excellent written and verbal

Qualifications

• 3+ years of defense-side commercial litigation experience in a law firm setting.
• Degree and paralegal certificate preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Strong knowledge of California state and federal court rules and procedures.
• Experience with discovery, document production, and trial preparation.
• Proficiency with legal research, document management, and review platforms, including Westlaw, iManage, and Nuix/Ringtail preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Trial support experience, including use of Trial Director or similar software.
• Strong understanding of the litigation lifecycle and the paralegal role from case opening through trial.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, notices, motions, and other court filings.
• Prepare deposition notices, materials, exhibits, and related summaries.
• Organize and maintain case files, indexes, and key documents.
• Coordinate with clients, witnesses, courts, vendors, and opposing counsel.
• Manage discovery, document productions, and e-discovery workflows.
• Track deadlines and ensure timely court filings, including e-filing.

The expected salary range is $90,000-$125,000, based on experience, education, training, and relevant skills. Candidates outside this range are still encouraged to apply. Paralegals are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
