Job summary

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP seeks a Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in our Litigation practice group. The position requires at least five years of experience in business litigation, a college degree or ABA-approved paralegal certificate, and strong discovery expertise.

The role may be based in Pittsburgh or other office locations. Responsibilities include handling depositions, medical record reviews, case chronologies, discovery drafting, and document productions.

Responsibilities

• Review and summarize medical records and deposition transcripts
• Prepare notices of depositions and deposition exhibits
• Communicate with experts and clients
• Create and maintain case chronologies
• Draft discovery requests and responses
• Assist in drafting motions, responses, and exhibits
• Review and organize document productions and apply redactions
• Organize and manage document productions
• Maintain internal active case lists with deadlines
• Research case law and draft client update reports
• Collaborate with Project Assistants, Clerks and staff
• Support production needs across cases
• Be flexible to support other duties as requested

Dinsmore is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in our Litigation practice group. While the location preference is Pittsburgh, PA, we will consider qualified applicants at other office locations.

Responsibilities

• Review and summarize medical records and deposition transcripts
• Prepare notices of depositions and deposition exhibits
• Communicate with experts and clients
• Create and maintain case chronologies
• Draft discovery requests and discovery responses
• Assist in the draft of motions, responses, replies, and exhibits
• Review and organize document productions for responsiveness, applying necessary redactions, and finalizing for production
• Organize and manage document productions
• Organize and maintain internal active case lists with applicable deadlines to the client, opposing counsel, and the court
• Assist in the research of case lawDraft client update reports
• Ability to work with Project Assistant, Clerks, and other staff to fulfill production needs
• Ability to multi-task, carry a large caseload, and work overtime as needed
• Other duties as requested

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in the area of business litigation with
• A college degree, ABA-approved paralegal certificate, or experience equivalent
• Strong knowledge and experience with discovery is a must, as well as
• Knowledge accessing and reviewing court dockets.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
• Be highly organized
• Have strong technical and database skills and
• Possess pre-trial and trial experience
