Job summary

Morgan & Morgan, a leading personal injury law firm, seeks a paralegal to work with a lead attorney on medical malpractice cases. You will draft, file, and manage pleadings and discovery in state and federal courts.

Join a large team across states; responsibilities include medical records review, coordinating depositions, and supporting experts. This is an on-site role in Baltimore with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a legal setting — litigation, personal injury, or medical malpractice experience a plus
• Familiarity with medical terminology and medical records review a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage a demanding workload with a positive attitude
• Willingness to learn and work within the procedural and filing requirements of applicable state courts
• Associate's degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent work experience preferred but not required
• This role is on-site, which gives you the chance to be fully immersed in the work and gain direct experience alongside the team.

Responsibilities

• Draft, prepare, and e-file legal documents including pleadings, motions, complaints, affidavits, memoranda, summons, and appellate documents in state and federal court
• Conduct legal research and factual investigation, including applicable state-specific medical malpractice statutes, pre-suit notice requirements, and statutes of limitation; track all key case deadlines
• Request, organize, and summarize medical records; prepare medical chronologies and identify potential standard-of-care issues for attorney review
• Prepare and respond to discovery documents, including interrogatories; maintain pleadings, discovery, and exhibit indexes
• Coordinate depositions, summarize transcripts, and assist with witness preparation
• Support medical expert coordination and communication
• Prepare trial binders, exhibits, and appendices with the legal assistant
• Liaise between trial teams and internal and external third parties, including clients, courts, opposing counsel, medical providers, and records vendors
• Assist with case settlements and other duties as assigned

Hourly Range: $28.85 USD - $43.27 USD
