Job summary

Professional Alternatives' Houston office is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant with 2–3+ years of Texas personal injury litigation experience to support trial attorneys in complex cases. This role demands organizational rigor, accuracy, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, coordinating discovery, preparing trial notebooks, and maintaining electronic files from filing through trial.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of experience handling plaintiff personal injury litigation in Texas.
• Experience assisting attorneys with active litigation and trial preparation.
• Working knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and filing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage plaintiff personal injury litigation files from filing through case resolution.
• Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Prepare trial notebooks, exhibit lists, subpoenas, and other trial materials.
• Draft, format, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
• Electronically file documents in Texas state and federal courts and track deadlines.
• Serve as a professional point of contact for clients, providers, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Order and organize medical records and manage affidavits as required.
• Support attorneys in maintaining an organized, trial-ready caseload.
