Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3+ years of claims experience preferred.
• Law degree is a plus.
• Previous experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Provide early contact with insured to identify witnesses and documents.
• Analyze coverage for claim and prepare coverage position letters.
• Communicate with underwriting for risk clarification.
• Maintain diaries for file tasks and hearings.
• Oversee defense counsel and develop litigation or settlement strategy.
• Maintain claim files with analyses of liability, damages, and reserves.
• Prepare internal reports for reserve increases.
• Communicate developments to carriers and management.
• Review and approve litigation budgets.
• Attend mediation and settlement conferences.
• Monitor and approve litigation expenses.
• Prepare settlement drafts and releases.
• Travel occasionally as needed.
