Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.
• Minimum 2 years of practical civil defense litigation experience.
• Experience in general liability, premises liability, construction defect, or insurance defense preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and courtroom skills.
• Ability to independently manage cases and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proactive, motivated, and conscientious approach to legal practice.
• Genuine interest in litigation and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of approximately 15-20 civil defense matters.
• Defend clients in premises liability, construction defect, and general liability claims.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Participate in mediations, hearings, and court proceedings.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance carriers.
• Proactively manage cases from inception through resolution.
• Evaluate liability, damages, exposure, and settlement opportunities.
• Prepare cases for trial and, when appropriate, handle trial proceedings.
• Maintain organized and timely case management.
