Job description

Our customer, a leading US-based Law Firm, is looking for a Litigation Attorney. The primary focus of the role is on Civil litigation, both state and federal.

Duration: 6+ months, with the potential to extend

Hours: 40 hours/week

Location: Remote, US

Key duties and responsibilities
  • Case management: Manage and oversee civil cases from beginning to end, including filing the initial petition.
  • Legal research and analysis: Conduct research to analyze legal issues, facts, and precedents relevant to the case.
  • Document preparation: Draft and prepare various legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and contracts.
  • Discovery: Handle the discovery process, which includes gathering written statements from witnesses and preparing expert witnesses.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolutions like mediation or arbitration on behalf of the client.
  • Trial preparation: Prepare and conduct civil cases, which can include preparing briefs for appeal.
Qualifications
  • A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be a member of the Texas bar association.
  • 3+ years of experience in handling civil litigation.
  • Experience representing clients in first and third-party insurance coverage litigation matters.
