Responsibilities

Career Consulting Partners is working with an established boutique plaintiff-side personal injury law firm based in Mid-Wilshire, Los Angeles, to find an experienced Associate Attorney. The firm has represented hundreds of injured clients and is backed by a robust in-house support ecosystem, featuring a dedicated pre-litigation department, case managers, paralegals, legal assistants, and lien negotiators. Its principal attorney is an active member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA).

Position Overview

This is a hands-on litigation role designed for a skilled litigator who can independently own cases from complaint filing through written discovery, depositions, mediation, and mandatory settlement conferences (MSCs), as well as prepare them for trial without requiring constant oversight. While the practice handles a wide spectrum of personal injury claims, the majority of the firm's litigation docket is focused on premises liability, rather than auto accidents.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage an active caseload of plaintiff personal injury litigation matters and formulate comprehensive case strategies.
• Draft and file complaints, pleadings, substantive motions, and oppositions.
• Oversee all phases of written discovery: propound discovery, review received responses for deficiencies, and prepare thorough client responses.
• Meet and confer with opposing counsel and prepare/argue motions to compel when warranted.
• Thoroughly prepare clients for depositions and conduct/defend depositions.
• Maintain regular, transparent communication with clients regarding case status and forward strategy.
• Manage litigation calendars, court appearances, hearings, and discovery deadlines in strict compliance with California rules and procedures.
• Collaborate closely with internal case managers, paralegals, legal assistants, pre-litigation staff, and lien negotiators.
• Proactively drive matters toward optimal resolution through settlement, mediation, or trial.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Active license in good standing with the State Bar of California.
• 5+ years of dedicated plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience.
• Strong command of the California Code of Civil Procedure and civil discovery rules.
• Proven proficiency in drafting pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and meet-and-confer correspondence.
• Demonstrated track record of independently managing caseloads and deadlines within a fast-paced litigation setting.
• Sharp written and verbal communication skills, paired with disciplined organization and high attention to detail.
• Trial experience is considered a plus, but is not strictly required.

• Salary Range: $250,000 – $350,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
