The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in state and federal civil litigation, along with a client-centered approach. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in complex cases while working alongside top-tier legal professionals.

Duties:

• Represent clients in state and federal civil litigation matters across various practice areas, including insurance defense, premises liability, and general negligence.
• Handle all aspects of case management from initial discovery through trial preparation.
• Engage in expert witness discovery and manage Electronically Stored Information (ESI) discovery.
• Draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
• Argue motions in court and engage in hearings.
• Maintain and manage a caseload with significant client interaction.
• Utilize strong research and legal writing skills to support litigation strategies.
• Assist in building and expanding a client portfolio, with an emphasis on growing the book of business.

Requirements:

• 5-7 years of experience in civil and general litigation.
• Proven track record of handling cases in various practice areas, including insurance defense, premises liability, and general litigation.
• Experience conducting depositions and managing discovery.
• Strong trial preparation and courtroom experience are preferred.
• Familiarity with Illinois Court Rules, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and Rules of Evidence.
• Proficiency in managing electronic discovery and remote depositions.
• A portable book of business is highly preferred but not required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• An active member in good standing with the Illinois Bar.
