Job summary

Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick LLP in Tampa, FL seeks an associate to join its litigation practice. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of commercial litigation experience, including depositions and court appearances, with strong academic credentials and excellent legal writing and research skills.

Experience in federal court and arbitration is preferred but not required. This is an in-person position in the Tampa office, offering an opportunity to grow alongside exceptional attorneys

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-accredited law school with active Florida Bar in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of commercial litigation experience in state and federal court.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

• Familiarity with local, state, and federal procedural rules and confidentiality requirements.

The Tampa, Florida office of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick LLP has an opportunity for an exceptional associate to join its litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of commercial litigation experience, including experience handling depositions and presenting in court. The successful candidate will have a strong academic record, and excellent analytical, research, and legal writing skills. Experience in federal court and in arbitration is preferred but not required.

We are looking for candidates who have a passion for litigation and who take a proactive approach and ownership of their work. Candidates must have a strong commitment to client service and want to develop and grow their litigation skills by working alongside exceptional attorneys.

Where You’ll Work

This is an in-person position in the Tampa, Florida office.

• A minimum of 3 years of commercial litigation experience in state and federal court
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills including a strong aptitude for managing and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines
• Comfortable handling depositions and court appearances commensurate with experience
• A thorough knowledge and understanding of local, state and federal rules of procedure
• Ability to work with a variety of attorneys and staff, and maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Physical Requirements
