Litigation Associate, Personal Injury Defense | Miami, FL | $125,000 to $200,000 | Personal Injury Defense

Miami juries have seen it all. They've heard every version of the soft tissue claim, the delayed onset injury and the surgery recommended two weeks after the letter of protection arrived. What they respond to is a defense lawyer who knows the file cold and talks to them like adults.

That lawyer is usually made, not born. It takes reps in depositions, at hearings and in trial.

I'm Ryan Jaiswal at Distinct Recruitment, and I'm hiring a personal injury defense associate for a firm in Miami that gives its attorneys those reps.

What your days look like

• Defending insureds in personal injury claims arising from motor vehicle accidents, premises incidents and general negligence


• Managing your own docket from the initial report to final resolution


• Taking depositions of plaintiffs, treating physicians, chiropractors and medical experts


• Challenging medical billing, letters of protection and causation

Who it suits

The pay range is wide deliberately, so this works for an attorney with a few strong years as well as for a senior lawyer or counsel who wants more ownership. More experience brings more complex files, first chair trials, supervising other attorneys and handling key client relationships directly.
