The People Of: Professional Services in Washington, DC is seeking a Litigation Associate with 1–3 years of experience to join its Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights practice. This role offers exposure to high-profile Chapter 11 matters and a path to develop expertise in restructuring and creditors' rights.

You will work on complex disputes, conduct research, draft motions, and collaborate with a close-knit team of attorneys.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of litigation experience.
• Prior law firm and/or judicial clerkship experience preferred.
• Bankruptcy experience is not required.
• Exposure to bankruptcy and/or creditors' rights is advantageous.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Top-of-class performance from a top-tier law school.

Responsibilities

• Represent creditors in complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
• Analyse and resolve sophisticated disputes arising from bankruptcy matters.
• Conduct legal research and draft substantive motions, briefs and other filings.
• Assist with discovery and other key phases of complex litigation.
• Develop litigation strategies alongside experienced attorneys.
• Work on high-profile matters involving a broad range of creditors' rights issues.
• Collaborate closely with attorneys across the Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights practice.

Litigation Associate, Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights

Location: Washington, DC

A highly regarded law firm is seeking a 2nd-4th year Litigation Associate to join its Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights practice in Washington, DC. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile Chapter 11 matters involving complex and cutting-edge disputes.

The successful candidate will join a close-knit litigation team representing creditors across a broad range of issues arising from major bankruptcy proceedings. Bankruptcy experience is not required, making this an excellent opportunity for a strong commercial litigator looking to develop expertise within restructuring and creditors' rights.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent creditors in complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings
• Analyse and resolve sophisticated disputes arising from bankruptcy matters

Compensation

Salary: $225,000 – $260,000

Generous signing and/or clerkship bonuses and relocation stipend where applicable.
