Job summary

The Cook Group in New York City seeks a Litigation Associate with approximately 1–3 years of civil litigation experience to join our growing office. You will handle matters from inception through resolution, draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses, and contribute to defense strategy across complex civil cases.

You will work alongside seasoned litigators, gain exposure to mass tort, asbestos, toxic tort, and product liability matters, and have opportunities for professional growth

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active admission to the New York State Bar required
• Approximately 1–3 years of civil litigation experience preferred
• Strong research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Eagerness to learn and develop litigation skills through hands-on experience
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment

Responsibilities

• Assist with the management of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution

The Cook Group is seeking an associate with approximately 1–3 years of experience to join our growing New York City office. This role offers a strong opportunity for a developing attorney to build practical litigation skills through hands-on work on complex civil matters, including mass tort, asbestos, toxic tort, product liability, and insurance defense cases.

Working alongside experienced litigators across multiple jurisdictions, this position provides meaningful exposure to all phases of litigation and the opportunity to develop professionally within a collaborative national platform.
