The Personal Injury Litigation Attorney will oversee all aspects of case management, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong advocacy skills, excellent communication abilities, and hands-on litigation experience within personal injury matters.
Personal Injury Litigation Attorney Responsibilities
Case Management and Litigation
- Manage a full caseload of plaintiff-side personal injury matters from inception through resolution
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, oppositions, and related litigation documents
- Handle written discovery, meet-and-confer efforts, and discovery motion practice
- Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy
- Maintain case deadlines and oversee litigation workflow
Depositions and Court Appearances
- Prepare for, take, and defend percipient and expert witness depositions
- Appear in court for hearings, motions, and related proceedings
- Handle both in-person and remote court appearances
- Advocate effectively on behalf of clients throughout litigation proceedings
Settlement and Mediation
- Draft mediation briefs and settlement-related materials
- Participate in settlement negotiations and mediation proceedings
- Evaluate case value and assist with resolution strategy
- Work to achieve favorable outcomes for clients through negotiation and litigation efforts
Client and Team Collaboration
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case developments and litigation strategy
- Collaborate with attorneys and litigation teams on case evaluation and planning
- Supervise and provide guidance to paralegals and support staff
- Maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and advocacy
Trial Preparation
- Prepare exhibits, witness materials, and pre-trial filings
- Assist with trial strategy and hearing preparation
- Participate in mediations, hearings, and trial-related proceedings as needed
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active California Bar membership in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of personal injury litigation experience required
- Ability to independently manage litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Strong deposition, negotiation, and motion practice experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, research, and advocacy abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced litigation environment
- Strong organizational and case management skills
Compensation and Benefits
