Job summary

Fish & Richardson, a premier global IP law firm, seeks a Litigation Assistant to support the San Diego team in a fast-paced Litigation Practice Systems Department.

In this in-office role (4 days/week, training 5 days), you will handle administrative tasks for legal staff, prepare documents, assist with overflow, manage document workflows, coordinate travel, and support billing accuracy. This position offers strong growth in a leading firm.

Qualifications

  • 1 year administrative support experience, preferably in a legal/professional services environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and ability to interface with firm technology platforms.
  • Ability to proofread documents for grammatical, typographical, or spelling errors and perform minor editing.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and willingness to take ownership of assignments from start to finish.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • In-office role; ability to work in the San Diego office 4 days a week (training 5 days).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare standard correspondence, memoranda, and other documents.
  • Assist with administrative overflow as requested.
  • Perform document downloading, document assembly, and related tasks.
  • Prepare and process expense reports, reimbursement requests, and check requests.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for legal staff, Case Managers and Paralegals.
  • Create binders and assemble case materials for meetings, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
  • Edit and proofread monthly draft bills for accuracy and formatting.

How Will You Make a Difference?

What Will You Bring to the Table?
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • The pay range for this position varies by geographic market. Final compensation will be based on a variety of factors including education, experience, skills, professional background, overall qualifications, and location. In San Diego, the estimated starting pay is $30.21 - $37.91 per hour (based on a 35-hour workweek), which is equivalent to $55,000 - $69,000 annually.
