Job summary

MCC, located in Fountain Inn, South Carolina, is seeking a Lithographic Press Operator to manufacture printed labels while maintaining high quality and press condition. The role involves running Komori 6-color sheetfed presses, performing makeready, adjustments, color corrections, and routine maintenance.

Candidates should have 2+ years of sheet-fed press experience and the ability to work in a team with safety-minded practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience setting up and running sheet-fed presses.
• Ability to read and follow job specifications and instructions.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Komori 6-color sheetfed presses and maintain quality.
• Complete makeready and adjust feeders, delivery, and other components.
• Replace worn rollers and adjust roller pressure as needed.
• Wash blankets and clean ink rollers and fountains on the press.
• Make color and register corrections to meet specs before production.
• Read job specs to determine materials and setup requirements.
• Follow safety instructions and operate equipment properly.
• Adjust feeder and guides and timing for optimal feed.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Instruct and guide junior press assistants.

The Lithographic Press Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions.

Responsibilities:

• The Printing press operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our Komori 6 Color sheetfed presses.
• Complete makeready, adjusting press components, such as feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, tapes, and cams, using hand tools.
• Removes and replaces worn rollers and adjusts pressure between rollers of press, using hand tools.
• Wash blankets and clean ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains, using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on press.
• Makes necessary color or register corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work.
• Requires comprehensive knowledge of offset presswork procedures and materials.
• Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully.
• Skill to follow instructions to operate equipment safely and produce the desired product.
• Ability to make adjustments to feeder and feed board (e.g., ability to adjust suctions and blast front and side guides and the timing of the head stops).
• Skill in performing routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
• Ability to instruct and provide guidance to junior level press assistants

Qualifications:

• Must be able to work in a team environment. Ability to make and read measurements.
• Ability to communicate in English -read, understand and carry out written instructions.
• Ability to understand verbal instructions.
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
• This position requires frequent walking.
• Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous eye concentration.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
• Other duties as assigned
• Minimum 2 years previous experience setting up and running sheet fed presses
• Previous experience in the operation of a sheet fed press equipment
