Job summary

onsemi is seeking an Entry-Level Lithography Engineer to support 300mm wafer manufacturing and drive process optimization. You will work with process, equipment, integration, metrology, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality products globally.

Responsibilities include owning lithography track processes, supporting TEL Track systems, and executing DOE studies to improve yield, throughput, and cost. A strong foundation in lithography and data analysis is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Semiconductor Engineering or related discipline.
• 0 to 3 years semiconductor manufacturing experience; internship/co-op preferred.
• Experience in cleanroom environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own and support lithography track processes and equipment health in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Support TEL Track systems, including ACT, LITHIUS, Pro, and related platforms.
• Execute DOE studies to improve process capability, yield, throughput, and cost.
• Collect, analyze, and present process data using SPC and engineering methodologies.
• Monitor critical process metrics including CD, defectivity, overlay, focus, and exposure performance.
• Investigate process excursions and support root cause analysis to maintain schedules and quality.
• Provide daily process support and product lot disposition for lithography operations.
• Partner with equipment, metrology, and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot issues.
• Support process qualifications, tool matching activities, and readiness initiatives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on yield, defect reduction, and cost/time reductions.
• Develop technical expertise and assume ownership within 6–12 months.

In this role, you will develop a strong understanding of photolithography processes and equipment while supporting daily manufacturing operations, process optimization, and yield improvement initiatives. You will work closely with process, equipment, integration, metrology, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust, high-quality products to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Own and support lithography track processes and associated equipment health in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Support TEL Track systems, including ACT, LITHIUS, Pro, and related platforms used in production and development activities.
• Execute process experiments and DOE studies to improve process capability, yield, throughput, and cost.
• Collect, analyze, and present process data using statistical techniques and engineering methodologies.
• Monitor critical process metrics including defectivity, critical dimension (CD), overlay, focus, and exposure performance.
• Investigate process excursions and support root cause analysis activities to maintain production schedules and product quality.
• Provide daily process support and product lot disposition for lithography operations.
• Partner with equipment, metrology, and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot process and tool-related issues.
• Support process qualifications, tool matching activities, and manufacturing readiness initiatives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on yield enhancement, defect reduction, cost reduction, and cycle time improvements.
• Develop technical expertise in lithography processes and equipment while assuming increasing ownership and sustaining responsibilities within the first 6 to 12 months.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in:

Experience

• 0 to 3 years of semiconductor manufacturing experience.
• Internship, co-op, research, or industry experience in semiconductor processing preferred.
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment preferred.
• Exposure to lithography, thin films, etch, diffusion, or other semiconductor process modules is a plus.

Technical Skills

Fundamental understanding of semiconductor lithography processes and manufacturing operations.

Knowledge of:

• Photoresist coating and development
• Soft bake and post-exposure bake processes
• Critical Dimension (CD) control
• Defect reduction methodologies
• Exposure and focus optimization
• Overlay control

Experience with:

• Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• DOE methodology
• Root Cause Analysis
• Yield analysis
• Data analysis using Excel, JMP, Minitab, or similar tools

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with TEL (Tokyo Electron) Track Systems, including ACT, LITHIUS, Pro, or related platforms.
• Experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing or process development activities.
• Familiarity with wafer handling, contamination control, and cleanroom protocols.
• Master's Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience supporting automotive, power semiconductor, or image sensor technologies.
