Job summary

Texas A&M International University is seeking a Federal College Work Study- Community Service tutor in Laredo, Texas. You will serve as a literacy tutor in a local elementary school, designing lessons and tracking student progress using provided materials.

As a student worker, you must attend trainings, collaborate with teachers and other tutors, and maintain a positive tutoring center environment, while modeling strong English language skills and meeting program requirements.

Qualifications

• Enrolled at least half-time in undergraduate or graduate studies.
• Maintain a minimum GPA as specified by the program.
• Must have FAFSA demonstrated financial need.

Responsibilities

• Attend trainings.
• Design and implement literacy lessons using provided curriculum and materials.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Maintain the tutoring center’s organization and positive atmosphere.
• Collaborate with tutors, school partners, teachers, and others to promote the mission.
• Model strong spoken and written English.
