Job summary

Dickinson Elementary School (PreK-8), part of Grand Rapids Public Schools, seeks a Literacy & Instructional Paraprofessional to support literacy across elementary and K-8 buildings in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The role focuses on promoting reading, reinforcing literacy concepts, and assisting with library-based literacy supports.

Qualifications

Must have at least two years of college (60 credits) or an associate degree or passing score on ETS paraprofessional assessment.
Familiarity with literacy programs and reading initiatives is preferred.
Strong communication, organization, and ability to work with students and staff.

Responsibilities

Assist scholars with literacy development and reading activities.
Work with large and small groups using varied delivery methods.
Maintain library environment and resources, display reading materials, and encourage reading.
Support RIF activities and help manage scholar records and schedules.
Engage with teachers, scholars, parents and community in a positive, supportive manner.
