Job Summary

This role is responsible for increasing customer confidence and loyalty by providing courteous and prompt service, consistent operating conditions and a friendly atmosphere.

Responsibilities
  • Compliance (50%) – Observes customers and checks identification for age verification, identifies customers who should not be served additional alcohol, assists in the prevention of open containers leaving the store, and denies sale of alcohol or tobacco to underage or intoxicated customers.
  • Customer Excellence (25%) – Provides continuous attention to customers' needs, greets, assists, and thanks customers in a prompt, courteous, and friendly manner, and offers product suggestions when appropriate.
  • Operational Excellence (25%) – Stocks and rotates department products to ensure freshness and date control; restocks and uses supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and maintain the lowest supply cost; operates department equipment and cashiering equipment accurately, recognizing all forms of tender and providing correct change; keeps work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards and reports faulty equipment and hazards to management.
Qualifications
  • Required Education – High School / GED Diploma.
  • Preferred Education – None listed.
  • Languages – English (required); Spanish (preferred).
  • Relevant Experience – 0-3 years minimum; no supervisory experience required.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities – Must be at least 21 years of age; TIPS training required prior to position start date; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and follow instructions; authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain same; successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check; compliance with all company policies and procedures; high standard of integrity and reliability; basic computer skills for online training; customer service skills; ability to work in a fast‑paced and busy environment.

Retail – General Heavy. Physical Demands: The employee regularly stands or walks on various flooring, uses manual dexterity, talks, sees, hears, smells, and performs repetitive movements. The employee frequently reaches waist level or overhead, carries, pushes, or lifts loads up to specified weights, and may sit, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb up to 30 ft. Working Conditions: Indoor, outdoor, cold, freezing, heated, wet/humid. Safety Risk Factors: Twisting back, slippery floors, hazardous equipment, sharp objects, loud noise, skin irritants, dust, fumes, sprays, hazardous cleaning solutions, other toxins. Equipment: Cleaning supplies, office equipment, register, pricing gun, scales, scanner, racks, carts, pallet jacks, shopping carts. PPE: Goggles, gloves, back brace. Pulling: 250 lbs. Lifting: 50 lbs.
