Blue Origin LLC in Seattle is seeking a Cryogenic Responsible Engineer to lead hardware development for cryogenic propellant management on the Zero-g Propellant Management IPT. You will own hardware end-to-end, from definition to vehicle integration, across internal and external suppliers.

The role requires a BS in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or Physics, 5+ years in cryogenic fluids, and flight heritage.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical subject area
  • 5+ years of experience in cryogenic fluids and mechanical systems/components
  • Experience developing, integrating and certifying aerospace systems for flight
  • Experience with fluid/gas components such as valves, manifolds, regulators, vessels and instrumentation
  • Experience with Cryogenic Fluid Management techniques and technologies
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Work at significant technical depth on complex subsystems with minimal oversight as part of the Zero-g Propellant Management IPT
  • Manage internal and external procurements and internal hardware dependencies to meet subsystem deliveries
  • Tackle cryogenic design tasks like trade studies, component design/integration, 1st order analysis, testing and supplier interfaces
  • Own hardware drawing release, manufacturing plan development, and integration onto the vehicle
  • Lead internal and external cryogenic technology development meetings
  • Cradle-to-grave ownership of cryogenic system

Join our team and pave the road to a permanent lunar presence!We are looking for a Cryogenic Responsible Engineer with experience developing and manufacturing cryogenic propellant management devices. You will provide technical oversight, requirement development, manufacturing support and hardware ownership on our most challenging cryogenic technical problems. As part of your role you will own hardware from cradle to grave and be responsible for delivering your hardware to the vehicle. Work will include the complete life cycle of the system from definition, interfaces, conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operation. You will work with both internal and external suppliers to design, build, test and analyze components that will take us to the moon!
