BCore is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to support enterprise Linux infrastructure in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO. The role requires active TS clearance with SCI eligibility and offers a path for ongoing security-clearance-related responsibilities.

You will work within SAFe/Scrum, helping optimize virtualization, automation, and system reliability across a distributed environment. The successful candidate will design, implement, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure, manage Nutanix HCI

Qualifications

• Clearance Required: Active TS clearance (with SCI Eligibility) and eligibility to obtain CI Poly
• Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work/military experience
• 5+ years of experience administering and engineering Linux systems in enterprise environments; experience with enterprise virtualization platforms (Nutanix)

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Linux-based infrastructure in on-premises and virtualized environments
• Administer, maintain, and optimize Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) with AHV, Prism Central, and Prism Element
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to provision, configure, and manage VMs, storage, networking and cluster resources
• Develop automation using Ansible and scripting (Bash & Python)
• Standardize configuration, patching, and deployment via IaC practices
• Administer and support Red Hat tools (Satellite, Capsule)
• Manage authentication/authorization mechanisms (OAuth, SSO)
• Support dashboards/observability with Grafana and Zabbix
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimize Linux systems and Nutanix infrastructure
• Document architecture, processes, automation, and standards
• Contribute to automation maturity and platform modernization
