Job summary

Total Force Alliance, LLC seeks a Linux Systems Administrator to support a large federal contract in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. You will manage Red Hat Linux systems and Windows Server across a global network management system, including cloud environments.

The role requires an active Secret clearance with potential upgrade to Top Secret, DoD 8750 IAT II certification, and strong experience with VMware vCenter, security best practices, and NAS/SAN management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 8 years of related experience with Unix/Redhat Linux.
• Experience with VMware vCenter and associated products.
• Experience integrating Network Management and Element Management with network performance, ticketing, and security subsystems.
• Experience with support systems including enclave Ethernet switches, SAN, and NAS.
• Shell scripting (bash) and other languages like Perl.
• Apply security settings and best practices such as DISA STIGS.
• Active Secret clearance with potential upgrade to Top Secret.
• DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level II (e.g., Security+CE).

Responsibilities

• Maintain multi-user Linux systems, coordinating with network admins.
• Set up administrator and service accounts and tune system performance.
• Install system-wide software and manage mass storage allocations.
• Interact with users and evaluate vendor products.
• Recommend hardware/software acquisitions and manage backups.
• Develop and monitor policies for compute resource usage.
• Create and maintain detailed SOPs and documentation.
• Coach and review junior staff; provide on-call and weekend support as required.

Linux Systems Administrator

(*Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance*)

We’re seeking a candidate to fill a Linux System Administrator position supporting a large federal contract located in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The candidate will maintain the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems running Redhat Linux but also includes Windows Server on a global network management system. Working with server farms as well as working with systems in a cloud environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be able to work in a rapid paced environment and must be able to work independently.
• The candidate works independently to maintain the smooth operation of a multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
• Duties include setting up administrator and service accounts, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
• Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
• Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
• Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
• Creates, maintains, and implements detailed documentation and maintains standard operating procedures.
• Provides coaching and reviewing the work of lower level technical staff.
• Provides support on a M-F business hours schedule, also responsible for on-call, extended hour, and weekend support as required by mission or emergency situations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and 8 years of overall related experience with Unix or Redhat Linux required. Specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Experience with VMware Vcenter and associated products.
• Experience with integration of Network Management (NM) and Element Management (EM) systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems.
• Experience with support systems to include enclave Ethernet switches, storage area networks (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS).
• Shell scripting (e.g. bash) and experience in other languages like Perl.
• Application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS.
• Currently possess an active Secret with the ability to be upgraded to a Top Secret clearance.
• Currently possess DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security+ce.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Working in an AWS cloud environment.
• Integration of Network Management (NM) and Element Management (EM) systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems highly desired.
• Experience with support systems to include enclave Ethernet switches, storage area networks (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS).
• Candidates with a thorough knowledge of networking principles to included TCP/IP a plus.
• Experience with a ticketing system such as BMC ITSM.
• ITIL v3 Foundation certified-
• Windows Server experience.
• Experience working with virtual environments.

Target Salary Range

$75,000 - $95,000
