Job summary

CACI International Inc. is seeking a cleared Red Hat Enterprise Linux Administrator with Puppet configuration management to join our IT team at Langley AFB.

You will install, configure, and maintain RHEL servers, automate with Puppet, and ensure security, stability, and scalability of our Linux infrastructure. The role requires active TS/SCI, a Bachelor's in CS/IT, 5+ years of IT experience, and experience with virtualization (VMware) and containers (Docker/Kubernetes).

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Bachelors degree in CS/IT or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience.
  • Security+ CE or equivalent certification.
  • Proven Linux administrator with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Strong Puppet configuration management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers and related software.
  • Monitor performance and troubleshoot to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Maintain Puppet manifests and modules to automate configuration and deployment tasks.
  • Implement Puppet best practices for efficient infrastructure management.
  • Version control and test Puppet code changes.
  • Collaborate with teams to provision Linux servers to meet business needs.
  • Develop and maintain IaC scripts/templates for deployments.
  • Install patches per Patch Management Plan using Satellite and YUM.
  • Respond to outages, questions, and system issues.
  • Create and maintain system documentation.
  • Train team members on Linux tasks.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in integrating, maintaining andoptimizing our Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring its stability, security, and scalability. You will also be responsible forleveraging Puppet automation to streamline system provisioning, configuration, and management processes.MUST be willing to work onsite at Langley AFB and have an active/current TS/SCI. Applicants with demonstrated experiencesupporting real-time 24/7/365 support in a shift work environment, highly desired. (Shift differential pay offered.)Responsibilities:1. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) scripts and templates to facilitate server deployments.8. Install patches according to the Patch Management Plan leveraging Satellite and YUM.9. Respond and resolve service outages, technical queries and other system related issues.10. Create and maintain system documentation, including procedures and configurations.11. Train and assist other team members on Linux and job-related tasks.Qualifications:Required:Active TS/SCI security clearance.Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)Minimum 5 years of relevant IT work experience.Security + CE certification or equivalent.Proven experience as a Linux Administrator with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.Strong proficiency in Puppet configuration management, including writing/maintaining Puppet manifests and modules.Solid understanding of Linux server virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., VMware, Docker).Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Bash, Python) for automation tasks.Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Desired:Minimum of two year’s DCGS experienceRelevant certification (e.g., RHCE, Puppet Certified Professional, Linux Essentials) are a plus.Experience with one or more of the following technologies: YUM, RedHat Satellite, Kickstart, Harbor, Kubernetes.Experience with shift work-What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity.At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
