Job summary

Intrepid Solutions and Services LLC seeks a seasoned Linux Administrator for NASIC IT support. The role centers on Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration, patching, and performance tuning on-site.

You will work with Jira/ServiceNow, manage DNS/DNS, SAMBA, and authentication services, and coordinate with stakeholders to meet hardware/software needs while maintaining DoD security standards. Active TS/SCI clearance is required at application.

Qualifications

• Eight years of Linux system administration experience.
• Experience installing and maintaining security patches for Linux.
• Proficiency in Python, C, C++, C#, Bash, Perl, Go and Java.

• Utilize ticketing systems such as Atlassian Jira, Atlassian Jira Service Desk, Atlassian Confluence, ServiceNow and Microsoft Service Manger
• Administer BIND DNS, FTP, and NTP as required.
• Maintain and update custom authentication services (SAMBA, VAS)
• Manage group shares and home directories.
• Monitor system usage and perform system tuning.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders to analyze requirements and determine hardware and software needs for automated solutions.
• Implement system enhancements to boost performance and reliability, covering installation, patching, monitoring, and configuration management.
• Ensure data integrity through backup and recovery services, proactive management of storage devices, and regular updates of virus and malware protection.
• Manage user and computer accounts, overseeing file permissions and security access lists.
• Conduct thorough testing of new releases to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility.
• Develop and document technical processes and procedures as necessary.
• Provide recommendations for hardware, software, and system component purchases.
• Engage with vendors to troubleshoot issues, evaluate products and services, and implement suggestions.
• Uphold Information Systems security guidelines rigorously, with expertise in DoD STIGs and vulnerability mitigation according to RMF and DoD standards.
• Maintain security audit and logging information for classified networked and standalone computers as directed.
• Prepare security documentation for Computer Security input and report project status as required.

Intrepid Solutions is currently supporting the National Air & Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) providing IT support services across multiple contract task orders. This is a NEW MULTI-YEAR contract. To continue to excel this program, Intrepid is seeking a Linux Administrator to provide Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Linux system administration support. A qualified Linux Administrator candidate will be able to meet the requirements and perform the duties outlined below:

OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:

• This is a full time position with 100% on-site expectations and standard operating hours Monday - Friday, unless otherwise indicated during the interview process.

TRAVEL:

• Position does not require travel.

Qualifications

CLEARANCE:

• Active Top Secret / SCI ***TS/SCI is required upon application for initial consideration. This position is not open for any clearance upgrades, reactivation, or sponsorship.***

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or equivalent, required.

CERTIFICATION(S):

• Possess active IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent) Certification.
• Linux+, LPIC, LFCS, or RHCSA certification, highly desired.
• If you do not currently hold a Linux certification, then it would be required to successfully acquire one of the listed certifications within 30 days of an accepted offer.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of eight (8) years of experience with Linux System Administration.
• Minimum of eight (8) years Installing and maintaining security/update patches for Linux.
• Experience with Programming/scripting languages such as Python, C, C++, C#, Bash, Perl, Go, and Java.
