Job summary

Visual Soft, Inc. seeks a Senior Linux System Administrator to support a classified defense program in Huntsville, AL. The role requires an active Top Secret clearance and 100% onsite work.

You will design and manage AWS infrastructure, automate deployments, and ensure RMF/STIG compliance for mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of Linux admin experience, strong AWS expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cybersecurity and DevSecOps teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Proven experience managing cloud infrastructure in AWS (VPC, EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch).
• Proficiency in troubleshooting networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancers).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline).
• Working knowledge of security hardening (STIGs, CIS benchmarks) and RMF controls.

Responsibilities

• Patch and harden Linux systems to meet DISA STIG and RMF compliance requirements.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies in accordance with DoD standards.
• Support and integrate CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure continuous monitoring and incident response.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum sprints, providing infrastructure support to development and QA teams.

Desired Certifications such as:

• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
• Security+, CISSP, or equivalent DoD 8570 certification.
• Exposure to monitoring tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios).

Our standard benefits include
